“A Little Gem of a Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

Loved this museum! Bought a joint ticket for the castle too for around £5 each. A series of rooms / mock-ups of family homes and shops from times gone-by. Wonderful remembering all the shop items and toys. We especially enjoyed the large dolls house which a lady's godmother had spent 7 years making for her. Also enjoyed experiencing the air-raid shelter with the sirens and bombs (you have to ask for the sound effects to be switched on). Man-made underground caves for storing beer etc. Very helpful pleasant staff. The tiny pub Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem is right next door for a drink or bite to eat.

Very interesting place, informative and nostalgic. Lovely for a walk down memory lane, see the old costumes, products etc.

“Nice Historic Little Museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

Was part of our ticket price for Nottingham Castle and the Cave Tour. Very cute little insight to life back in the early days in Nottingham and each room was decorated as such filled with items of the period. Also, showed how it was used as a bomb shelter, besides storing beer back in the day. Took us about half hour to go through, well worth it.

“Kids really enjoyed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Brilliant, a step back in history. The kids loved the air raid shelter and listening to the siren.
Also a step back to the childhood toys of different eras. A really good place to go and lovely helpful staff.
