“You'll find yourself going back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2013

We have been visiting this Restuarant for many years through different owner ships and our recent visit under the Nepalese banner was not disappointing.. The food is freshly cooked and the staff are most helpful and friendly. Seems to be quiet in the week so getting a table shouldn't be a problem appear to be busier with the takeaway option. Busier at weekends though. I will certainly be paying it another visit very soon

“Hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2013 via mobile

I love the Everest! Both me and my partner. It has a great atmosphere, and great friendly staff. From the outside it doesn't look much but I can assure it will not disappoint. Just as good, if not better than the fancier indian restaurants in town and a lot better for your pocket. Generous portion sizes and very tasty!

“Take it or leave it”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2013

The restaurant is a long think room with tables either side. The atmosphere lacks a little, especially when there aren't many people in. The restaurant and tables was clean and warm on a winters night which was nice. The food was good, although not overly memorable. Service was particularly slow, There seemed to be a guy who ran the show and then a young lady serving, but we waited for quite some time for our order to be taken (30 mins) and then another 30 mins before it arrived, leaving us sat at a small table for an hour without food and the majority of that time without a drink either. They seemed to be rushed off their feet and I'd say the restaurant was only half full.

Another note - these were the most expensive poppadoms and pickles we've ever had! - nearly £4 for 2 pops and a mediocre selection of chutneys.

All in all, a mediocre restaurant, nothing special but food was reasonable.

“Lovely meal & service”

I visited this local restaurant with three friends. We all really enjoyed our evening. The food and service were wonderful. We will certainly return here again.

“A different curry experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2013

The Everest looks little more than a shed from the outside but don't let that put you off, it is a real restaurant serving a different twist on the usual curry house.
I'm not an expert but I do know that there are regional variations on types of curry so I was a bit disappointed that pork was not on the menu as I know that you can find it in Nepal.
The food is reasonably priced and everything we ate was hot (thermally) and tasty. The ghurkahli dishes were very flavousome and spicy without being fiery and didn't seem as greasy as some indian curries are.
When we visited it was the coldest day of autumn so far and the restaurant itself was quite cool, several of the patrons had scarves or even their coats on.
The restaurant was quite full when we visited and service did slow down a bit. Coffee at the end of the meal was excellent.
