“Never lets us down... A very enjoyable night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2014

I have been to the Glee Club in Nottingham a handful of times now and each time have thoroughly enjoyed the visit. The club is a very intimate one, small but in my opinion this adds to the brilliant evening. I often go with my friends, however the Glee Club was a location I also suggested my dad take a group of 20 to and not one person left the club without a smile on their face. I definitely recommend the Glee Club; having gone to a number of comedy clubs not just in Nottingham, but also around the UK, this has to be my favourite yet.

great acts. Friendly staff. Great environment and atmosphere.

I'm going back. I would say this club punches higher then the competition by far. Food nice to.

“Pointless rude staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 24, 2013 via mobile

I attended the Glee Club for a work Xmas do with 26 others. When we booked the party we mentioned we had a disabled person in a wheelchair with us. The Glee club would not let this person sit where they had asked him to during the show. Neither would they allow him to sit in his wheelchair. Obviously sitting in one of the extremely uncomfortable plastic chairs was not an option, plus the appalling staff said this would be a health & safety hazard. 4 of our party left for home only 1 hour into our evening due to the complete lack of organisation and incompetence of the Glee club staff.
The meal was also very uncomfortable as we had to eat off the smallest tray-size table. It was so uncomfortable I did not eat.
Overall a pointless £25 ticket with appalling rude and thoughtless staff.
Keep well away from here.

We work genuinely hard to have an inclusive, dedicated and welcoming approach to access and support for entry to all of our venues, for all of our shows. We make information on access to the venue very available on our website and our in-house box office staff are well prepared to assist with enquiries and to then make sure the Venue Manager is also well prepared to assist the party on the night of their visit. Like most theatre-style venues it is important that information is provided in advance so that we can then use the information to remove seats from our seating plan to provide space to make access to the auditorium easy and the show experience enjoyable.

In June we began liaising with the party organiser about this booking, corresponding closely while additional people were added to the party, taking food pre-orders and confirming the whole booking. The booking process went smoothly, the party organiser was great but did not attend on the night. It was only on the night when the party arrived did we become aware that there was a gentleman in a wheelchair. The Venue Manager and Floor Manager did everything they possibly could to assist - helping the gentleman into an auditorium seat and providing dedicated support. Having assisted the gentlemen we then needed to ensure we kept the aisles of our sold out seating plan clear for safe passage and if necessary evacuation, and this is why we asked to move the now empty wheelchair to the rear of the room. We have a legal responsibility to ensure the safety of all of our customers. Of course we would provide the wheelchair to the gentleman whenever requested.

The idea that we were somehow not willing to do all we could at short-notice to assist a customer in a wheelchair is simply unfair and inaccurate. And we could have done so much more with a little more advanced information. If any readers are considering a visit to one of our shows and you would like to find out more about access to the venue and how we will also help personal assistants and carers support their patients in our venues please contact our box office in advance of your visit. We help hundred of customers every year and we will be happy to help.
