“Packed Saturday night yet 1st class service and tasty food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

Food as good as we have come to expect. One of our favourite dishes, a main course portion of salt and pepper squid ( you have to like a hint of fresh chilli and garlic) together with scallops (large) mushrooms and sugar snaps in a birds nest. Singapore noodles which is like a mini main course and rice. Packed to the gills didn't stop us enjoying 1st class service. Don't be afraid to ask for ingredients to suit your taste. They will try and help if possible.

“Mandarin Chinese restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013 via mobile

Very tasty meal, with a big menu, but all well prepared and served by friendly staff. Enjoyed our meal. Nice ambience and clean and tidy. A bit pricey, but if you stick to the set menus it is much better value. Would definitely come again.

“Real Chinese Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 15, 2012 via mobile

I am really surprised by some of the reviews. I have been eating here for over twenty years and it is the best Cantonese food in the East Midlands - as attested by the large number of Chinese diners. I accept that, due to its popularity, staff are busy and some have limited English but the food is genuine and consistently go a high quality. The salt and pepper squid is fantastic and I recommend a visit during the afternoon for Dim Sum.

“flawless”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

I visited this restaurant while on holiday in Nottingham and what a pleasure it was. On arrival we were shown to our seats and having just stepped in from the cold i was in love with the place already... soft couches and cushions! yessss! Even though I was hungry I kinda wanted to food to take a while to come out so i could sink into the comfort while i enjoyed a lovely Chinese beer.

When the food came it was perfect, the best Chinese meals i can remember having, and very generous portions. I was impressed enough to go for desert, mint ice cream covered in chocolate... it didn't disappoint either.

I am absolutely shocked at some of the comments about the service because it was some of the best I have ever experienced. Our waitress was charming and friendly, and most importantly it was genuine and not forced and fake like you get in most restaurants. She even insisted on treating us with a complimentary baileys and brandy after our meal. Pure class

“Food ok, staff no”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

We went as group of 4 today to have dim sum. The food is ok, not good not bad. The minus thing is the staff possess cold place and not friendly attitude. There is a small discount (2 pounds) if you pay by cash.
