My husband and I stayed at Loughbrow House for one night for my husband's birthday in June 2004. We booked this because it is listed in The AA B&B Guide 2004 and we could not find another b&b at short notice as it was a long weekend. I admit that I am pretty fussy about accommodation and have stayed at 4* or above accommodation on all other short holidays. However, I can honestly say that I was not expecting the shocking standard of accommodation we experienced at Loughbrown House - stained sheets, uncomfortable twin beds pushed together but made up separately that you sunk right down into, milk left out of the fridge. I'm grateful it was only one night because I don't think I could have returned for another night. I should have clued on when I phoned to make the reservation and the landlady was not the usual friendly person one encounters at a b&b and she insisted on a cheque being sent by mail for the reservation. Stay away!
