Recently had my first visit to the Abbey. It is stunning. The alters and windows are beautiful. We were lucky that someone was playing the organ when we visited and it really added to the atmosphere. The crypt is fascinating and the guide was really informative. Its fabulous to see the ancient roman stonework. Donations are asked for which is reasonable. The wood work of the pews has to be seen. If the seats are down, tilt them up and see the work on the underneath of them. Its fabulous workmanship. Unfortunately the Tower Tours were really busy but that just gives me an excuse to pay a return visit sometime. There was a refreshment area set up when we visited but I don't know if this is the norm and I can't comment on toilet facilities as we didn't need them.
