Fancied a day out to Hexham with the better half and the dog, so was keen to find somewhere we could have a bite to eat that would allow us to take the pooch - after a bit of Googling and a check on their website, this place sounded ideal, and we weren't disappointed! They are happy to allow dogs inside the cafe, but as it was a fine day we opted for the garden seats out the back. I went for the Soup and a Sandwich offer, which looked a bargain at £5.95 whilst the other half went for a hot ciabatta sandwich for a fiver and for drinks we both plumped for a latte. Service was amazingly quick and the carrot and coriander soup was delicious and piping hot - so much so, that i left it to cool whilst having my Chicken, Bacon and Mayo sandwich - also delicious. My wife's Ham, Mature Cheddar and Red Onion Ciabatta was also very nice, although she did say it could have done with a little more onion. The dog wasn't left out of all of this culinary delight, as he was given a little bowl of dog treats to keep him happy - a very nice touch.
I felt stuffed afterwards so wasn't fussed about any dessert, but the wife's eye had been caught by the homemade scones with jam and clotted cream - when it arrived, she offered me half and, well, it would have been rude to say no! Again, absolutely excellent and will guarantee a return trip.
Other comments: The staff were all very friendly and attentive, and the place is clearly popular with the local young mothers - while we were there about 10-15 arrived in separate groups with their little ones (and a couple of dads in tow) - it looked like a regular thing for them and, based on the food and the service, I don't blame them!
