As a pretty-regular visitor to the Church Restaurant, last night's meal was as inspiring as ever. The building and its surroundings are the first impressive thing you'll notice about the Church Restaurant. The choice on the menu's is varied and changes through the year, which is always a bonus. The wine list has a good selection, also. The food itself is always exquisitely-served, full of flavour and excellently cooked... Michael Gaud, the head chef, definitely knows his shallots from his onions. The staff are invariably attentive and friendly and just get on with what needs to be done without any fuss. I've been a fan of this restaurant for 4+ years now and always recommend it (along with a select number of others in Northampton) to friends, colleagues and family members. Well worth a visit, whether as a couple or in a group. The sticky toffee pudding is definitely worth trying! Oh... and they'll cater for vegans, too, which few places do in the area! Patrick and Alex (the managers) know how to run a top-class restaurant and you never feel rushed when you go, nor do you ever leave hungry. Whilst the A La Carte menu is not for the money-conscious, the food is excellent for the prices charged and the 'Lunch / pre-theatre' menu is very good value indeed! :o)
