“Know where it is but try getting there.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Infuriating one way system and restricted streets makes this place very difficult to get to. The advertised postcode they say to use for sat nav does not work. No parking also.
Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms clean and tidy. But yet again with this chain two teabags, two milk cartons, two coffees and only two sockets in the room.
Bed comfortable and sleep quality good.
It is what it says on the tin. Basic, clean and no frills. Strongly suggest you research the last half mile of your journey here.

Only paid £40 for a double room, the staff on the reception desk were helpful and nice on check in and out. The room was relatively clean and came with the usual tea and coffee and was what you expect for a budget hotel.

The shower worked well and was hot, there was even the added amusement of having to lift the toilet seat to allow the bathroom door to close, a perk you don't get everywhere!

Apart from the painfully slow lift and toilet seat I cant fault the hotel for the money we paid to stay there.

This hotel is in a convenient town centre location, five minutes walk from the station. The new bed is really comfortable - no wonder everyone is raving about it. The heater seemed to have a bit of a struggle keeping the room temperature up and the bathroom was quite cold in the morning.

Having seen previous reviews I was concerned about noise but on the Thursday night I was there it was really quiet and my room was right at the back and away from any roads, the only downside being the brick wall view out of the window! The staff were helpful and efficient and check-in was quick and easy. I wanted to check in early so had to pay an extra £10. At the nearby Ibis they let you check in from 12.00 noon as part of the basic package. Seems a shame Travelodge can't offer the same. As others have mentioned, there's no bar or restaurant at this hotel but there are plenty of good ones to choose from within the immediate vicinity.

At £62 including the extra £10 for early check in, it's not badly priced but I've often paid less at Travelodge. However, that's no doubt down to demand and supply and flexible rates. Apparently both this hotel and the Ibis were completely full that night and nobody is quite sure why. Northampton is clearly a happening place!

Booked into travel lodge central northampton for two nights,Friday and Saturday.
Location was perfect, but as to be expected in a city centre location noises around but not in the hotel from passerbys out enjoying themselves.
Beds very very comfortable and spotlessly clean, the staff couldn't do enough for you! Very friendly and helpful!!
This one doesn't have a restaurant but loads places in the same street to eat and shop.
Only down side to our visit was our room had a smell of cats wee in it :-/
We will def stay here again.

I understand that this used to be the Grand Hotel. If it was then it’s gone through a total make-over. This is a typical Travelodge but in this instance there is no restaurant or bar on the premises. However, being located in the town centre there are many places to eat and drink (restaurants, cafes, bars and even Wetherspoons all in a few minutes walk). Dinner and breakfast is therefore very easy to obtain.

The traffic outside was not too busy but the street noise late at night on the Friday was a bit of a problem (I was located at the side overlooking Kingswell Street). Perhaps other rooms are quieter? There was also some noise inside the hotel but it was not too bad. Strangely though the Saturday night was quieter outside!

Overall an acceptable hotel but at the budget end of the market. While clean and with good décor, you need to bring your own toiletries (shampoo etc) and hair dryer. It is however en-suite with TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Excellent comfortable bed and very attentive and friendly staff.

Recommended if you are not too fussed about a reduced level of thrills and extras! If I was ever to stay in Northampton again I would not hesitate to book here.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking Gold Sreett at the front may be noisy at night, especially at weekends.

Have been to many traveloges, some good and some bad. This I would say is one of the better ones. The staff were friendly and helpful, it's in a good location and the room was clean & a decent size. The thing that let's it down would be that there's no parking. We did manage to find parking nearby at a cost, wasn't too expensive tho.
