I visited the Rennie Mackintosh house at 78 Derngate last Sunday with 2 friends and we started our day with coffee and cakes at The Dining Room. The decaff coffee was delicious and, whilst I enjoyed the excellent coffee and walnut cake, my 2 friends enjoyed the gluten-free scones. We then had our tour of 78 Derngate and returned for a late lunch at The Dining Room. We all had the wild mushroom risotto which was absolutely delicious. The menu is impressive, with lots of choice and some lovely, unusual soft drinks. Some other guests were having the afternoon tea which looked scrumptious. Friendly and fast service too - all in all, an excellent visit.
