I went to this pub as a change from the food at the Holiday Inn at Flore, which is always reasonably good, but staying there a lot makes one crave a change of menu. This is a 2 for 1 pub. Main course, puddings and a couple of drinks still left change from £25 for two, so no doubt about cheap, but the food was awful. I opted for gammon steak with fried egg, chips and peas, my colleague had rump steak with the same trimmings. The chips were great, but the fried egg was undercooked, and the gammom even more so, it was nearly raw in the centre, and such a poor cut that much of it would still have been inedible even if correctly cooked. Gristly and awful. The rump steak was little better, over-done, two small pieces instead of the advetised '8 oz' and again of a poor cut. Our choice of pudding was unavailable, the replacement, a cheaper straightforward Apple Pie, was good average. The service was friendly, but the place was noticably understaffed so bar service was fairly slow. No sauces were offered when the meal was served. Overall, pretty poor fare and will not be going back.
