“Great Weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Excellent welcome Zoe made us feel as if we had known her for years.Room very nice also very clean and very warm.Breakfast really good the homemade bread was a real treat to eat so fresh.Lots of information in our room about where to go and what to do.Would highly recommend St Rahael to anyone looking for a good place to stay.Parking no problem and only about 5-10 mins into the centre.York is a delight and lots to see.Try the Big Wheel the views are well worth seeing especially the Minster.Thank you for your hospitality

Room Tip: First floor goodramgate room

What a little gem of a place to stay. The hosts Dom, Zoe and little Ollie cant do enough for you, very helpful. Their recommendations of where to eat, visit etc are excellent.
Our room was lovely and breakfast amazing, everything is spotlessly clean and our stay was perfect.
What a lovely family and should you need wedding photographers I cannot imagine a nicer couple to do the honours.

My cousin and myself have stayed at St Raphael's for a few nights, for the past three years, and will return this year. It is in a good location for visiting York, with easy access to trains and buses to explore the surrounding area.

We have always found Zoe and Dom very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable and there is a good choice of breakfasts, served to a high standard.

Strongly recommended

We stayed for 2 night early December & I would absolutely recommend to all. Very close to York centre with a lovely walk through the museum gardens to get there. Our room was lovely, fantastic breakfast with great hosts. We have also stayed at Abbeyfields which is run by their parents, if this is not available then try there, it is as good.

Stayed for 2 nights in December. Lovely friendly welcome, knowledgable hosts on what to see while in York and where to eat. Clean warm room with modern decor. Great breakfast loved the bacon. We found a lovely wine bar called The Biltmore that did fantastic cocktails

Owners extremely helpful in every way. Zoe and family made us feel right at home. Great breakfasts in a lovely dining room. Free street parking and a short walk to the town center through the park containing the St. Mary's Abby ruins and the York Museum. The Stonegate room was a little small, but had a comfortable queen bed and lovely bath. This B&B is in an old house, so the stairs are difficult, but it has so many other plus features that we'd stay there again.

Room Tip: All rooms are on upper floor. If stairs are a problem, this should be a consideration,

A lovely b+b, gormet breakfast with home baked fresh bread and very special sausages and bacon. Superb location with an easy walk into the historic centre. Zoe was very helpful and recommended some great eating in town - especially Cafe Concerto. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
