A family member gifted myself and my husband tickets to see Jules Holland and his Blues Band, in November 2012, at the Barbican, together with a stay over in the Barbican House. And what a lovely little gem of a place it is. We were greeted by the proprietor, who showed us to our room (No.1) on the first floor. The room was clean, fresh and quaint, (not too sure about the animal pictures on the walls though), plenty of tea/coffee/milk and even a small decanter of Sherry, which we were happy to sample whilst getting ready for the theatre. A very comfortable sleep was had before breakfast the next morning. Lots of choices, cereals, toast and the biggest platter full of fresh fruit we have ever seen!! The full English breakfast was just the thing to set us up for a days shopping in York. We enjoyed our stay so much, that we have booked again for this November, as we will be seeing Jules and his band again at The Barbican, which is just 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Well done Barbican House!!
