We visit York two or three times a year for a few days and without fail always stop here to sit outside for coffee and usually a toasted sandwich. This place varies from day to evening, during the day it is a popular coffee stop, nice Danish pastries and good sandwiches. It is popular because you can sit outside whatever the weather, under patio heaters and smokers can smoke!
On an evening we have been known to call on our way home from a meal for a coffee and drambuie but this year the evening set up has changed. It's very popular with the young set, with thudding music and bouncer. So not for us on an evening anymore but still a great coffee stop during the day.
I have always found the staff very pleasant and the service good
Toilet is tiny but clean
Coffee is good - latte served continental style in a glass - no complaints at all
