None of the grumpiness found by the previous reviewer. Living locally, we had been before but for some reason had not been for a few years so decided to give it a try on a busy Saturday evening when family visited us. We had not made a reservation but our party of 5 was warmly welcomed and quickly found a reasonable table in this small establishment. The waiter was charming and helpful while we were trying to decide and cheerfully provided bottle openers for the alcoholic drinks we had brought along.
My daughter is vegetarian so sought help in choosing something suitable and told us afterwards that the advice was good and she tried things she would never have thought of and hadn't noticed in other Indian restaurants and she was delighted with her meal. My own tandoori mixed grill was enormous and I couldn't do it justice.
Several families followed us in with young children and the waiters coped with the kids admirably so it is a very family oriented eating place. The manager came around and chatted for a while between courses, getting to know his clients. All very cosy.
The price was good too - very good value for money and, of course, taking your own wine / beer keeps the costs down enormously as there was no exorbitant mark-up to add on.
A good value meal, decently cooked and served well. Highly recommended - especially for family gatherings.
