“Small but inviting friendly and comfortable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2013

Only a small cafe it still manages not to feel claustrophobic. We dropped in on a cold Saturday and managed to perch on the end of a larger table. I had a very nice pork and apple sausage roll and a very good espresso. My wife had a home made scone and a ' London fog ' to drink! I won't elaborate more you will have to go and try yourself!
The building is lovely being an old tower under Lendal bridge.
Highly recommended I am already planning a return visit. Proper espresso!!

“Gorgeous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013

Came across this by chance and so glad we did. It's tucked away in a kind of turret and is a lovely little room with eclectic furniture and lots of arty stuff around. We had a selection of drinks and food including delicious coffee (soya milk available - yay!), bacon roll, incredible cinnamon bagel and cakes. All very reasonably priced too.

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2013

Visited based on the reviews I had read here. They are not wrong. The building itself is not very big, only seating a dozen or so people but it is quite quirky. We only had a coffee and sanwiches and they were very nice indeed. Definitely recommend.

“excellent charming pit-stop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

Gillygate is a narrow excessively busy street along which at least one ambulance seems to be hurtling at any one time. But the PPCS maintains its cool: friendly staff, good cakes and a wide variety of hot drinks etc. And wi-fi.
