Sotano quickly became my favourite place to go out and have drinks after my first experience!
Its hidden on one of York's many cobbled streets and if you weren't looking you'd probably never find it...
With a cocktail menu thats ever changing and great selection of snacky tapas which are great value you can't go wrong!
Admittedly the cocktails aren't cheap, ranging from £6-£9.50 roughly the same price as "Evil Eye" round the corner, but they are twice as good as you'll find in the hundreds of other local bars.
If you fancy a snack I like the "Lomo" cured lean pork loin, Gordal (meaning giant) olives - they are the best olives you'll ever taste guaranteed!
My recommendation is that you get in early, Monday and Tuesday it's closed, other days it opens from 6pm and we tend to go between 6-7 to beat the rush, as all the drinks are made to order and some very complicated ones I can imagine a slight wait when theres any more than 20 people in there!
