This is a really nice bed and breakfast. Upon arriving, we found that we had had our room upgraded for free which was a pleasant surprise.

The carparking at the back was full, but we were told where on the street we could park for free overnight and our car was safe there.

The room was very much a typical English bed and breakfast room - pleasant without being remarkable. It was clean and the bed was comfortable and everything that we required. The en-suite bathroom was clean, if a little small but again, no less than what we needed.

The location is great - about a ten-minute walk to the city walls. It was pretty easy to find being on a main road.

The breakfast was excellent, our request for a vegetarian breakfast saw us eating a full cooked breakfast with vegetarian sausages, egg, tomatoes and toast.

The staff were among the most helpful I have ever met. We will stay here again next time we are in York.

We stayed here in March and were very happy with Blossoms.
We arrived way too early for check in but came to see if we could leave our bags. It was no problem and the kind Polish man on reception (who seemed to be running the place alone, 24hrs a day) let us check in and gave us a choice of rooms.

He was very helpful at sorting taxis out and letting us keep the bags in the room after check out etc. He also cooked a great breakfast.

Our room on ground floor was small but adequate. there wasnt much room in the bathroom either. Location was fine - a good 10 minute walk to Minster.

We shopped around and found best price through Octopus £75 per twin room for saturday night. I would say its good value for York

We spent 2 nights here recently in one of our favourite English cities but this was our first time at Blossoms. Even though we arrived early for check in we were given the choice of two ground floor rooms. We took Room 2 because it was larger and brighter although there was little privacy. It was a choice of either keeping the blinds closed or leaving them up for light and losing privacy. The window was enormous in keeping with the style of the building and a sheer curtain would have solved the problem.
When we returned at night our room was lovely and warm - it felt like it had underfloor heating - but we were told room 2 was on top of the boilers. The 2 male and 1 female staff members we met during our stay were very friendly, we were offered a cup of tea on arrival and they phoned a taxi service for us when we left.
It's a 10 minute level walk into the heart of York itself and the relatively late check-out (I think it was noon?) meant we were still able to visit attractions on our last morning. I would stay there again

My mother, aunt and I stayed at the Blossoms York just before Easter Weekend. We arrived a little early for the 4 pm check in, but were advised that our room was ready and that we could move right in. The room was really nice and very clean, as was the ensuite. The beds were very comfortable, and breakfast the next morning was delicious, well worth the extra money. The real standout about this place, however, was the staff. We were greeted with a smile, given information and directions, and best of all the staff kept our luggage for us after we had checked out of our room. When we returned later than expected, the staff expressed concern for our well-being, and were wonderful about the delay. All in all, I highly recommend the Blossoms for anyone traveling to York and looking for comfort, service, and easy access to the center of town.
