We booked a 3 night stay based on our experience the last time we were in York, 2 years ago. It's within easy walking distance of the train station and the city centre is close nearby, along with most of the attraction and the river Ouse.

The room its self was fairly spacious. Without being bad the bathroom could have been cleaner, though overall the cleanliness was ok. Reception were friendly and when arrival told us about a good night sleep guarantee. We were wakened at 4.50am, early in our second morning, as there was a bin lorry a few yards outside our room, emptying big 110 litre bins for the company next door - apparently this doesn't count in the good nights sleep guarantee!
Breakfast involves leaving the premises through a Costa Cafe and walking a few yards along the road. Buffet style with nothing to complain about, fairly standard fair and always plenty of it. Not cold but not piping hot either.

We never saw this as anything other than a convenient, budget hotel for a short break on the way to business elsewhere and are happy with what we got without being bowled over - apart from the rude awakening one night!

We will go back the next time we are down that way.

We were checked in by Kim, an incredibly friendly member of staff. Our room was very large, incredibly clean and provided everything we needed for our stay. The hotel is a short walk from the centre of York city centre and the train station. We did not eat breakfast in the restaurant, instead we ate a full English at the Punch Bowl Wetherspoon's directly across the street to save some money. This Premier Inn is excellent value and we will be staying again.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel and were really pleased with our room. The bed was enormous and very comfortable. We had a choice of pillows, soft or firm. We slept very well and it was a shame to have to get up. The restaurant food was superb and the staff were professional and very helpful .

The only downer was the toilet paper in our en-suite. It was dreadful. Almost like Izal.

Apart from that small item, we recommend the Premier Inn very highly.

Great location easy to find. The staff was very helpful. Jackie was wonderful she helped us with all that we ask about and got those extra little things that made our stay so enjoyable. Rooms were clean and very nice.

Arrived at the hotel, ideal location (Out of the train station, turn right 5 minute walk) A couple in front of us also waiting to check in. THREE staff on reception all on the phone, ok, wait until they've finished, not a problem. Huh! How wrong!!! All 3 finish and promptly LEAVE reception leaving 4 of us waiting to check in. EVENTUALLY 1 came back and dealt with the couple in front, who then decided to tell the lady their life story!!! I had to say at this point that I'd had a long journey from London and I was not interested in the couples story and was there anyone else available. I was greeted with the response "Oh yeah, I suppose there is". The member of staff that attended was "Natalie" I think. Who incidentally was not one of the original trio on the phone. But was very pleasant and helpful. What happened to the other staff who disappeared into the back office I can only assume they were either in hiding or they were magically spirited of into another world. Then came the room, NO phone, NO air conditioning and the window WIDE OPEN. Being on the ground floor we were unable to leave this open (Security being the obvious reason). If you want these extras then check into the Blossom St South (Which is attached to the same building incidentally) but will cost you a further £13 a night (That was the online price difference at the time of booking). All in all, poor check in, average rooms, magically disappearing staff but in an ideal location.

Great location and friendly staff, all was very easy and available.
Good size room and king size bed, everything just what we needed.
Nice and quiet and peaceful, after travelling for two months this is what we really appreciated.
