We have chosen this B&B mainly for his location, close to the historical centre of York: it is at maximum 10min walk from the ancient walls and gate. Sufficiently quiet road, very few traffic noise, three car parkings available in the side way
We arived late in the evening, about 10pm, but Mrs Carol had no problem in waiting for us (we had advised her).
There were 5 of us and stayed for 3 nights: she offered a double room plus another double with added bed, but for the following night she moved the 3 of us to the main treble room on the front of the house.
The rooms are quite wide, furnished with a lovely taste that shows the attention of the owner to every minimum detail. The beds are very confortable, they were all en-suite, very clean (even if we don't "approve" use of carpets in the bathrooms, but this is standard british practice), provided with towels for everyone and full facilities for having a tea or a coffee in the room. TV LCD is also available in all rooms. Unfortunately the climb upstairs to the first floor with heavy luggages is not facilitated byt the steep and narrow stairs... but we managed to do with a bit more effort.
Breakfast, what to say about it? Excellent is not enough, plenty of choice freshly prepaered at customer preference, both Continental and full English are available: Mrs Carol was always kind and available even with the multiple requests from our children for tasting something different every day.
Con: only accepts cash payment.
Highly recommend this place for short and long staying in York, we will save this facility for future comings.
