We have just returned from a weekend in York. York was brillant but the hotel had a few problems.
The bedroom was clean, the double bed was ok, the bedding was clean but a bit old and dated. Furniture which consisted of wardrobe, dressing table and bedside cabinets very fine. There was also tea and coffee making facilities TV and hair dryer in the room. The windowless bathroom was a long dark tunnel, the shower and bath where black with mould, an attempt had been made to clean this and more sealant had been put over the top! the extractor fan was held together with masking tape needless to say it did'nt work. The taps in the wash basin did'nt switch off, which was rather annoying.
Breakfast was served in two sittings, as our room number was No2 we had the first sitting which was between 8am and 9am. There was not much organisation in the dinning room the food was very good, but, too many staff not knowing what they are doing we where asked three times if we wanted tea or coffee!!
All in all a reasonable hotel, but, we expected a better standard of accomodation for £100 per night, after complaining about the bathroom we asked for a discount and we where given £20 off our bill.
NOT recommended - you can do much better than this hotel.
There must be better places to say than this!!!!
