Great place to stay if you're sick of paying a single supplement - I booked two double rooms at Linden Lodge Hotel, one for my partner and I and one for our friend who was travelling with us. This is the first time she has not had to pay more for single occupancy of a room, and indeed she got a double ensuite room the same as us but for nearly half the price. The couple who own Linden Lodge could not have been nicer, they provided a mobile phone charger to my friend to help in contacting us when we got separated, they provided cooked breakfast an hour earlier than the normal time to enable us to get our train and and they even booked the cab for us. The rooms were very clean and comfy and there was also a nice lounge/bar area which was very welcoming. The facilities in the room were in good order with plenty of tea and coffee and the cooked breakfast was tops. It was only about 10 min walk to the train station and about the same into town. All in all I would highly recommend Linden Lodge

Had an excellent stay here. The whole building has recently been redecorated and recarpeted to a very high standard. The rooms may be small but they have everything you need for a short stay. It is two large Victorian houses that have been knocked into one, set in a very quiet cul de sac about 10 minutes walk from the station and city in a residential area with lots of other B&Bs nearby. The owners are very friendly indeed and are only too pleased to help. Breakfast is nice with a good choice and the staff are very friendly. There is a small residents bar - and the Wetherspoons pub and local restaurants are just 5 minutes walk away.

A really lovely room. And wonderfully nice people. Very close to the town centre, yet far enough away to be cosy and quiet. We'll definately be back.

The B&B was only a short distance from the city walls and also very close to the train station. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and recommended some lovely places to eat close to the accommodation.

The rooms were very clean and cosy and nicely decorated. The bar area was great - it was nice to have somewhere relaxing to chill out and have a drink after a long day walking round the shops!

I would thoroughly recommend this B&B to anyone wanting to stay in York.
