“Outstanding Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2012

Stayed with our grandson for a couple of nights at half term. Hotel was very busy but staff helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Location just by Micklegate and a few minutes walk to station was excellent for visiting attractions and perfect for the rail traveller.
Meals taken in The Longboat, good breakfast and evening meal with good variety on kids menu. Again, service was excellent with helpful staff.
Have stayed in Premier Inns previously as we have found they are clean and good value, but this was the best so far on overall performance, mainly due to the hotel's team.
Pricier than some Premier stays, but a popular location for business as well as families at half term so you can expect to pay more than the headline price. Would be excellent for couples on a trip outside of school holidays.

Top notch hotel only 5 mins from the train station and 10 mins from the city centre so ideally situated all round. We booked a family room which was very spacious and had a double bed and 2 proper singles so we were delighted with that. We were at the back of the hotel with views towards York city centre and it was very quiet.

We paid an extra £7.99 for breakfast for one adult and my 2 kids got breakfast free. I have to say the breakfast was excellent. I have been to many hotels where the breakfast has been cold, slimy, undercooked, cheap etc. This one was excellent quality.

Staff were very helpful at the hotel too. Couldn't do enough for us.

Wether spoons just up the road if you don't want to venture into the town in the evening - very child friendly.

Will stay again as was excellent for the price.

Just got back from a 2 night stay - family room @ £29 per night. Great hotel, new, clean and very friendly + helpful staff. Hotel is very short walk into town - children aged 8 + 4 managed the walk several times from the hotel approx 10 - 15 mins. Room was comfortable - usual Premier Inn standard that you can count on. Room was on 2ns floor at the front overlooking the main road but was very quiet, not disturbed at all by the road or other guests. Travelled by train and again a very short 5 min walk from station - much easier and cheaper than using the car. Had breakfast both mornings - great for the kids as they filled up - try and get into breakfast reasonably early as there is often a queue for the hot food. Will def stay again and would recommend it. We ate in the Longboat restaurant on Valentines night - great menu and outstanding service. Also Reel cinema is nextdoor so we went there too - great for kids to keep them entertained and out a bit later at night !!!

Just spent a comfortable 3 days at this hotel. Comfortable is the correct word in this no frills hotel. Stayed at Premier Inn's previously and they do what they say on the tin. The room was clean and fresh, bed was fine but poor pillows. Too soft. A 10 minute stroll from the train station and a comfortable 15 minute walk into town. Plenty of bars nearby and a few restaurants if you decided not to go into town. Had a meal one night which was good value and did a breakfast one morning. Full buffet for the wife and the little one for me, not a breakfast person. The food was fresh and enough of it. Would recommend this paticular Premier Inn as most we have stayed in.

Stayed here on their £29 special rate. As always the rooms were great, clean and the restaurant was great value.
Parking situated less than 5 min walk away £8:50 for 24 hours.
10 minute walk into the centre of York.

Stayed here on business last week. The hotel is in a great central location. Was just a few minutes from train station and York City Centre. My room looked at quiet courtyard to rear and was clean and spacious, I had a great sleep and didnt hear any noise. I had dinner in retaurant and it was more than decent as was breakfast in morning. Restaurant was busy but staff were pleasant and attentive.

Room Tip: Room not facing main road will be quiter (I had 215)

A great hotel, situated just outside of Micklegate, so an easy walk into the city. You can access the city walls from Micklegate too. The hotel is close to the station if you are coming by train. There is a small car park behind the Blossom Street North Premier Inn - just a couple of doors down. This costs £8.50 for 24 hours. There's also discounted rates at an NCP - but worth trying the hotel car park first I'd say. The room was a decent size, immaculately clean, and nice and quiet - although rooms on the main road may be noisier. There was a restaurant pub downstairs, lots of pubs and restaurants nearby too.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel will be quieter.
