“What a delight”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2006

This small hotel was recommended to me by a very good friend & it certainly lived up to it's name - it is definatley a haven.

Set on top of the cliffs with stunning veiws & a 20 mins walk to the town centre, but feels far less as you enjoy the veiws.

We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived & nothing was to much trouble for the couple who owned it.

The rooms were immaculatley clean & beautifully decorated, we stayed in room No 1 which was very comfortable indeed.

What can I say about the food, It was to die for & plenty of it, all home made - My congratulations to the chef, who I later found out was the owner himself.

I felt so relaxed after our visit & I can't wait for my next weekend away - yes you've geussed it - it certainly will be "HAVEN CREST"

  • Liked — The friendliness of the family who ran it & of course the FOOD
  • Disliked — There was nothing there you could dislike.
  • Tips/Secrets — Don't be dissapointed - Ring & book before you go as rooms seem to go very quickly

Stayed with friends last weekend. We found Havencrest just by accident as it is away frrom the crowd, but boy what a find.
I couldn't fault it! The rooms are comfortable and offer more in little extras than most big hotels would do. We Stayed in No2 and No 4 they good sized rooms with great sea views.
The breakfast was amazing, the choice, the service and the presentation.
This is a good, clean Bed and Breakfast which we will definately be visiting again.

Stayed at The Haven Crest with friends 15th/16th Sept 2006.
The place was a bit out on a limb, but had off road parking.
It took 20/25 mins walk to the old town of Whitby, which was along the clifftops and very pleasant.
We stayed in room N05, which although compact, was very clean and tidy. Tea and coffee available in room.
The en-suite bathroom looked quite new, but the shower had the power of a watering can.
Our friends stayed in room No1, which was meant to be a double, but was really very pokey. The "double" bed measured 3ft 10 inches. When mentioned to the owner he feigned surprise!
The breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice. It was let down by the "economy" sausage served with the Full English.
In the Whitby tourist brochure, the place is advertised as having 3 rooms; is has 6.
If you want to stay here, ask about bed size before booking.
