“Fantastic View”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013

The view from our room was like a postcard view of the fishing port with the dramatic ruins of the Abbey across the bay,we sat up and watched the boats going and coming.. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, good breakfast,we really enjoyed our two night stay. This hotel is an historic pub, although we did not find it noisy and we could have a nightcap drink on our way upstairs .The stairs were a bit of a challenge but the stunning view was worth the effort. There is no parking as such and we parked a little distance away but did not need the car throughout our stay as everything is in walking distance. This hotel is several hundred years old and it is situated directly across from the busy fishing boats and fish dock.

Lovely little hotel and bar. Extremely friendly staff. Beds and shower/WC perhaps a little on the small side, but the view from the room was gorgeous. Very welcoming and a great breakfast in the morning.

we have just come back from our one night stay on our wedding anniversary.Called in on spec and fell in love with room 7.It overlooked the quay and was so cosy. The breakfast was enormous even after 3 pints of Black Mass the night before there. The staff are extremely friendly and obliging.A proper love nest!

Room Tip: room 7 was lovely

Just got back from Whitby and our two day stay at the Pier Hotel. This was a real find and were not disapointed. Bedroom no 4 was very clean and the ensuite bathroom modern and bright.

Very good hosts, nothing to much trouble. Massive breakfasts, smiling faces and a very warm Yo
rkshire welcome. The beer was good too!!

We shall be back.

Room Tip: All the rooms overlook the harbour.

Finding somewhere to eat inside with a dog is difficult. During a wet visit to Whitby, we were delighted to see The Pier allows dogs into the left hand side of the pub. After a bit of a mix up with the meals between bar and kitchen, our meals arrived and offered good value for money together with a choice of real ales. If we ever return to Whitby, we will certainly be back.

Stayed here with my husband for three nights this week. I was pleasantly suprised by the standard of the accomodation for the price we were paying. As we went midweek it was only £60 a night and we got one night free which included full English breakfast.
The room we had was number 4 which had a lovely harbour view (I think they all do) It was fresh, clean and rather more modern looking than you often get in these sorts of places. I'd say the photos on their website are very true to what you actually get. The bed itself was very comfortable with clean white bedding (no attempts to choose something dark to hide dubious stains I was pleased to see). The bathroom was of a similar standard. Tea, Coffee, biscuits and some toiletries were included which were a nice addition. The staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Breakfast was served quite late from about 9 onwards so it meant a bit of a lie in was possible. The breakfast was plentiful, hot and of good quality and staff were quite happy to accomodate any special preferences. Overall my husband and I had a lovely stay and would certainly return.
