We visited the tearooms after a walk through the waterfall, and as the house became visible the heavens open.
After running over to the covered table (handy!) we ordered food and drinks and the man working there who was also the owner brought it over to our table under an umbrella. This was surprising and brilliant service! It was all a bit magical under a wooden roof in the middle of a forest with rain pouring down. The cakes were marvellous, as were the bacon baps, and the same man made the trek between our table and the serving area for sauce so we didn't have to venture out. Also, £22 for 7 people to have cakes and bacon sandwiches and drinks seemed very reasonable.
After the rain stopped the children in the group explored the play area and even though it was damp and steaming they had a lovely time climbing on the wooden things.
I should also mention the toilets which were exceptional. Very clean with a tiny viewing window (best view from a toilet I've ever seen) and complimentary nappies and wipes.
