“Nice Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

Just come back from a 2 night stop at the Angel Hotel in Whitby. Nice hotel recently renovated to high standards, lovely view of the harbour from room 402. Centrally located and another good witherspoons hotel.

Warmly welcomed. Easy check in. Pay and display car park just across road which was excellent value £6 for 24 hours. Lovely room with gorgeous views of harbour. Just beware of low beams, I thought I was being careful but still managed to bump my head. Ate breakfast the next morning which was good. Allow some outside noise from gulls and traffic but great central location.

Booked a family room for the weekend and were impressed with the beamed room we were allocated with views over the harbour.

Only fault is children are not allowed in the bar or restaurant after 9pm even when a resident of the hotel. As we like to have a quiet drink before retiring to our room we were rather taken aback at this rule. The only solution the management could suggest was to take our drinks to our room but who wants to sit in their hotel room at 9pm when on holiday?

Suggest Wetherspoons point this rule out when families book!

Room Tip: Family room 314 is a lovely large room

Had a 2 night stay in the middle of October, friendly staff at check in and a stunning room , well decorated and well thought out , bed and pillows very comfy and lovely duvet, great to have a couple of chairs in the room to sit and look out of window or read rather than on the bed,
The first floor bar is also impressive. This would give any boutique hotel a run for their money.
A great standard of accommodation, Well done Wetherspoons ,

Room Tip: park at Tourist information car park for £6 for 24 hours

Very impressed, no surprises, good size tastefully furnished room. great views over the harbour.
Central location and very handy for food and drink at Weatherspoons downstairs. Very friendly smiling staff, would like to stay again if I return to North Yorks coast.

we stayed at the Angel hotel on the 6th october for 1 night. The staff on checking in were very friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean and nicely furnished. The restaurant served reasonable food but the only suggestion is that the staff wiped the tables down outside as they quite wet due to other people drinking there. We would stay again and recommend it to family and friends

Stayed for one night, room was of a good standard, recently renovated by the looks of it and clean.
Bar area was quite busy however we were there on a Friday night.
Didn't eat on the evening but had breakfast which although was ok we had to wait 35 minutes for our food despite being told the wait would be 5-10 minutes.
No car park but there was public pay and display car parks nearby, cost £6 for 24 hours parking.
Overall is a decent hotel in a good location but make sure you allow ample time for breakfast.
