“The Perfect Honeymoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2011

We have just returned from our fantastic second stay at Dillons! Having stayed at Dillons 2 years before, it was always going to be our first choice for our honeymoon. It is quite simply the best place we have ever stayed in. As before we received a very warm welcome by Fiona with a pot of Yorkshire tea and homemade sticky toffee cake. We stayed in the Raj room; this beautifully decorated Indian themed room was immaculate and had the most comfortable bed and pillows, with a very spacious en-suite. Breakfast was as delicious as before. The Yorkshire breakfast really set us up for the day – with local produce and homemade bread included. Everyday there is a different special for breakfast, along with cereals, fruit platter and juices. Tim and Fiona are such lovely people who have always made our stay in Whitby more memorable. We would definitely recommend this luxurious B&B and we hope to return for a third time soon!

We stayed at Dillons over the recent May Day bank holiday weekend - and we will certainly return!. Attention to detail is the key to success at this fantastic luxury bed & breakfast location - the beautiful property, themed rooms, wonderful food (Fiona's sticky toffee cake on arrival was to die for!), the amazingly comfortable beds and incredibly helpful hosts combine to make this one of the truly nicest places we've ever stayed. Breakfast was plentiful and really delicious, with lots of lovely local produce included.
The location is great, within easy walking distance of the town and the harbour, and there are loads of things to do and plenty of places for evening meals. We spent a very enjoyable day riding on the North York Moors railway!
Many thanks to Fiona and Tim for making our stay so memorable.

Room Tip: Book early - its very popular!!

My wife and I have just come back from a wonderful week in the Toulouse room at Dillons of Whitby.
We have stayed at many places around the UK but we both agree that Dillons is Simply the Best...
From the moment you get there you receive such a lovely warm welcome from Fiona & Tim along with a welcoming cup of tea with home made cake which was yummy....
Also Fiona & Tim were so helpful with local information and places to go and nothing was too much trouble for them.
The Toulouse room was Beautifully decorated and furnished and was spotlessly clean. Although the room was at the front of the building we never had any problems with road noise.
The Breakfast which was served by Tim was Excellent every day and along with his Wit and Humour made a great start to each morning.
For anyone wanting to stay in Whitby there is only one place to go "DILLONS of WHITBY"

We recently enjoyed a brief holiday on the Yorkshire coast.
We started with 2 days at Dillons of Whitby, a splendid guest house which we highly recommend.
On arrival we were quickly shown to our very pleasant room on the 2nd floor [Troon], Tastefully decorated, with a very modern and spotlessly clean shower/toilet en suite. Tea & coffee making facilities with fresh milk & biscuits.
After unpacking, Tim & Fiona provided a very welcome coffee and home made cake along with a brief explanation of the attractions of Whitby. They are both very friendly and upon request will even introduce guests to Dillon himself.
Dillons is situated directly across the road from the attractive Pannetts Park, this presents a virtually traffic free walk of around 15 minutes into Whitby centre.
Dillons superb breakfast provides a wide choice of cereals, fruit etc followed by any combination from the full Yorkshire breakfast or kippers or the daily special. Plenty of toast, coffee, tea etc.
Our first visit to Whitby in many years, everone we met was very friendly, all the food was wonderful:-
Our awards go to
best fish & chips, The Magpie
best apple pie, Sanders Yard
best crab salad, Abbey Steps Cafe
best pint, Black Sheep in the Duke of York, Church Street
recommended places of interest, the Cook Museum and the Abbey

Room Tip: Troon side of house, nice & quiet

This was the first time we have stayed at Dillons and we will definitely be going back again. From start to finish Fiona and Tim made us feel welcome and we were greeted with tea and cake when we arrived, which was much appreciated after a long drive. The room was superb, beautifully decorated with a view over Pannett Park and the little touches like a selection of teas, water in the room and the biscuits made it all the more welcoming. Breakfast was fabulous, with a choice of cereal and healthy stuff and the full Yorkshire - which we can highly recommend, it certainly set us up for the day. The location is great, not far from the harbour or Westcliffe - which we got to through the park, and easy to get out and about if you wanted to go slightly further afield to Goathland or Scarbrough etc.
We were seriously impressed with Dillons and hope to be heading back there very soon.

What can I say about Dillions, outstanding.

We have been back there three times now and have never had a bad experience at all. Fiona and Tim are great people and always have the fingure on the pulse, and help one and all who stay at Dillions. I would recommend Dillions to anyone and everyone who is looking for a great time in Whitby.
