“Faultless”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2014

Went with a small party of five last Thursday. I had previously been for a drink but never for a meal.

What a delight from start to finish. The young gentleman who served us was great as was the food. All in all an extremely enjoyable visit and will definitely be back.

“Crackin' crab”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2014

Having just landed in Whitby we walked along the waterfront looking for somewhere to eat so popped in on the off chance.
The staff were friendly, the decor was tasteful, the atmosphere was relaxing, the view from upstairs was awesome and the crab sandwich we had, whilst a touch on the expensive side, was delicious!

“A enjoyable evening”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

It was for my birthday so I wanted somewhere special and I saw the menu online after noticing them on twitter and was keen to try. What makes them so unique is that all the items on the menu can be a starter, main or sharer.

It was a Thursday night when we went and they had 2 for 1 on cocktails.. Well it would be rude not to. We started off with there special of the week, something green with pineapple/lime juice and vanilla vodka. Very nice.

For a bar, I would also highly recommend as well as a place to eat.

For starters I had tiger prawns in garlic butter and chunky bread. Jess had oysters in a creamy white wine sauce. We shared, as we do. Nothing wrong with the taste but only thing is I got 4 prawns and Jess got about 12-15 oysters and they are both starters. Despite that, presentation was top-class and the flavour more then made up for the small portion.

Mains came quite quickly after our starters, again its a small thing that didn't overly bother me but I like time to get hungry again so to speak and let my first course digest. However, I would rather it quick then take all night.

I had the BBQ sticky ribs and chicken wings. This just came with coleslaw and some lettuce.. Jess had scallops topped with mash potato. We ordered a side order or curly fries. Now, again, I like my food and that's not a secret and again I'm not complaining about portion size as I got 3 ribs and 3 wings. But. The salad could have included some cucumber and tomato at least and would have liked some more coleslaw. I also, maybe my own fault, expected something else, don't know what but just something.

I respect very much the concept of one dish for starter or main, it's simple and unique. I just think I picked the wrong dish, it was more a starter trying to be a main then a main... I just want to add tho, that it was delicious. It tasted amazing, cooked perfectly, warm witch for ribs is rare and nice seasoning.

More cocktails. They where strong! This time Jess had a espresso and vodka and I treated myself to a pornstar martini.. My first time. Served with a shot of champagne, made me feel very special.

You can't go for a meal without having a desert. My favourite part of the whole meal. They've got this right, they do six taster sized deserts. You can have one, two for £6 or all six for just £13. So, of course we went for the full range. It included; Chocolate cheesecake. Chocolate brownie. Blackcurrent crumble. Rice pudding. Creme burle. Ice cream. I don't like rice pudding so tried and gave to Jess, nothing against Harrys. The Blackcurrent crumble was too sharp for Jess, I ate it. Didn't not like it but wasn't the best dish. Ice cream is what it is, same with the brownie and cheesecake but the creme burle . . Mmmmm!!

All in all. Fantastic place. Nice staff. Nice seating and decorations. Decent value, not as dear as you expect. Amazing bar and cocktails and the food was a high standard. Harrys is a place we will be going to time after time.

“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2014

The wife and I booked a table at Harry's since we've only heard good things about it, we weren't disappointed. Was very busy which is usually a good sign. Plenty of choice on the menu, even offering starter sized portions if more than one takes your fancy or sharing. The food was really tasty, to a high standard and presented well. Desserts likewise and good coffee. Plenty of choice for beverages from hot drinks to champagne cocktails. High praise for the staff, very polite and diligent. Overall a great meal in my hometown, a place we shall be returning to! Thanks Harry's for a pleasant evening
