“Nice location but I was slightly disappointed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2012

This bed and breakfast is well located for the town centre. The owners were welcoming and the breakfast was great. My disappointment was with the room which I found to be small and although it provided storage for your clothes it was of little use as most of the drawers were small. The electric shower in the bathroom didn't give you much of a power shower and I didn't feel ean. There was an infestation of small flies in the bedroom and although the owners did their best to get rid of them, there was obviously a problem as they kept coming back. I hate killing anything so this upset me. This bed and breakfast was given a good rating so I was expecting more.

Just to clarify. The flies mentioned were tiny black aphids that had congregated by the window due to the humid weather conditions (hardly an 'infestation'). A quick hover with a vacuum cleaner in the morning got rid of them. The guest stayed a further two nights without further complaint and we found no evidence that they had returned. This was a one off occurence and no other room was affected.

We booked Settle Lodge after reading Tripadvisor reviews and we can honestly say TA got it right again. What did we do before! All the excellent reviews are spot on. This is as good a B&B as you are going to get. The hosts Amanda and Eduardo are very welcoming. Our room was spotlessly clean - the bathroom looked new it was so gleaming. Although the house is on the main road through Settle our room at the back was very quiet. The road does quieten down considerably at night so I would think there would be no problem with traffic noise anywhere. The breakfast was very good. It's only a 5minute walk into the centre of town where there is a very good choice of places to eat.

3 nights in Room 7 were super clean, super comfortable with an immaculate en suite. Super hosts = only too happy to give help, information and (honest) advice. A super breakfast each morning consisting of anything we wanted (loved the beautifully cooked food served on warmed plates!) If only all B & Bs were like this one!

Room Tip: Rooms 5,6 & 7 are on 2nd floor (bit of a mountain to climb)

An unexpected overnight stay in Settle saw my friend and I booking into this excellent guest house.Due to a cancellation Eduardo said he could offer us "the best room in the house", and he wasn't wrong. Seeing it we snapped it up immediately and it proved a foretaste of everything to come: super accommodation - waking up to views of a sunny September morning through the huge windows of room 4 provided a special start to the day, and my delicious choice of breakfast - blueberries, apricots, prunes and yoghurt followed by the tastiest full English breakfast, freshly-brewed coffee and granary toast plus an impressive selection of preserves - made an favourable impression on my taste buds too. Amanda and Eduardo are a lovely couple and the accommodation and service provided is of a very high standard. We'll be back - only next time ior longer.

Stay was 31 Aug - 1 Sept 2012, 2x 30 yr old girls - stayed in room 5
Excellent luxury B&B lodge in close proximity to Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. Friendly unintrusive owners, delicious breakfast ( gluten free!) and the room was just perfect. Parking to the rear and local ameneties and take aways too. Great value in my opinion!
Beautiful.

We stayed for 2 nights, 16 & 17 Aug, in this excellent B & B. Although it was not the cheapest in Settle this was far outweighed by the high standard of the accommodation. Everything was in spotless condition and the whole place was very tastefully equipped. The breakfast, which offered all one could want, including Full English or smoked salmon with scrambled egg, was well-presented, with linen table napkins and good heavy cutlery. The tea/coffee basket in the room offered a wide selection and one could request fresh milk. The proprietors were anxious to offer good service in every way and gave us a welcome beverage and home-made fruit cake (with butter, as is the custom in Yorkshire) on our arrival, and took our bags up to our room.
If it is available, ask for room 7. Although it is up 2 flights of stairs it is such a wonderful room that the climb is well worth the effort. The furniture is fantastic, there is a lot of space, and the views are superb. This was, without doubt, the best B & B we have ever stayed in.

We stayed here recently whilst attending a friend's wedding. We stayed in room 3 which was on the front of the building and was very nicely decorated, clean light, airy and modern. The only let down was the shower head was poor, with a spurts of water and low pressure. The view out of the window towards the hills was fantastic, and although the room faces the road, once the windows were closed it was silent - with no traffic on the road after 11pm anyway! The breakfast was very good, lots of variety, with vegetarian sausages offered for my husband and I which was a real bonus. A 2 minute walk into the centre of Settle
