We came to Norwich for a Wine Tasting Dinner at the Iron Horse restaurant, and as the Beeches Hotel is no longer satisfactory for us, we booked in here. Tuesday seems to be their busiest night, so we paid more than we usually do, but it was convenient.
It is easy to find and we drove into the multi-story car park, as directed. Note that when you check out from the hotel they validate your ticket, but you get an additional 12 hours from when you check out - which is brilliant. So you can get parking from 2pm the day before right through into the evening of the following day. (Note also that you do need to put your ticket into the paying machine in the car park - which all worked well for us)
We find that Premier Inns are almost always better than Travelodge places, certainly more consistent in their standards. This was the usual good sized clean and fresh room, the bed was excellent as usual, and nice curtains that keep out the light - should you wish to sleep in. The check out time of 12.00 is very good. The 30 mins per day free WiFi is very useful, and very easy to access. Enough for a quick check of e-mails in the evening, and the following morning.
We find the breakfasts pretty good, and certainly good value if you want a large meal to take you through to perhaps a cake and coffee mid afternoon. In our case, after a large meal the evening before, we decided to nip out and have a smaller breakfast in the nearby Mustard Coffee Bar. If you want fruit juice + cereal + pastries + cooked breakfast etc. then Premier Inn is fine. However if you want truly superb coffee and some artisan breads plus perhaps eggs Benedict, then The Mustard Coffee Bar is a funky choice.
So this Premier Inn worked well for us for an overnight stay and to explore the delights of Norwich. We would come again, but try to arrange to avoid the more expensive Tuesday!
