I found this gem by simply googling restaurants near Norwich. Rated quite high and we are definite foodies so I gave them a call for a reservation 2 days before Fathers Day!!! spoke to very charming man who turns about to be Ollie, he was fully booked but managed to juggle tables and after I revised my time he promised to try and meet our needs. We were planning a pick up from the airport and had two youngsters so timing was important to us. He was charming and the booking was confirmed the next day. Was also told that owing to time of table (5.30 when service ended at 7pm) that he couldn't guarantee all mains as didn't know how orders would run as all meals were freshly prepared, which was fine, at least we knew, I like that...we ran late at airport so rang through and was reassured that booking was still fine. Turned up 20 mins late and restaurant was very busy, lovely ambience and relaxing friendly feel though, were met at bar immediately and front of house, Henry I think sorted us out no problem, ordered Chilean Sayvignon Blanc which was lovely, we were told we could enjoy a drink outside first or go straight to table, nothing was too much trouble. Ollie then appeared, clearly busy but guessed we were the late guests and again made us feel very welcome...i ordered lemon sole, jersey royals, samphire and cockle butter I think but it was delicious, 3 roasts on menu and other choices. Excellent value and all staff were very attentive and personable. Lovely Broads outlook where we enjoyed coffee after...we'll be back 100%...special thanks to Ollie. Great team. Great value, lovely location.
