“Amazing chippy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2013 via mobile

Can't recommend this chip shop highly enough! Stylish decor, interesting/varied menu, friendly service and great value for money!
Also, if you way to sit at a proper table (they have a bench with stools) you're allowed to take your food over the road to the birdcage pub if you buy a drink there - great idea!

Thank you SG0788, your kind words are much appreciated.
The birdcage pub next door is always a good choice to enjoy your food.
Always a friendly, welcoming crowd there as well - with a great choice of drinks, coffees and teas.
Thank you again for your kind review, it is always our pleasure taking care of the hungry people
of norwich. Take care.

“Changes but still good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2013 via mobile

This chip shop used to be owned by a couple and was amazing, recently it changed hands (I think their son has taken over) and it had been refurbished. I was worried that along with the new owner the quality would go but as I bit into my succulent suds age and delicious chips my fears were unfounded! Simply amazing! Are there cheaper chip shops? Yes, are there better ones? None that I've been to!

Thank you joeonthebus, for a kind review.
Yes the son has bought the shop from his parents, with the mom still taking orders on the lunch rush. We are pleased you enjoyed your food, the son had worked in all the family shops, taking a 10 year "break" in nyc, we are all glad he is back in norwich. All of us thank you again for writing such a nice review. take care.

“Why go anywhere else!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013 via mobile

From the minute you walk in to the moment you walk out to the pub across the street you know you are having a special experience
Cod/fish/peas/curry sauce all delivered in a simple tray with the extras in containers
All very hot and delivered in under 5 minutes whilst you sup an excellent pint in the quirky Birdcage pub listening to some classic music from the seventies.
Died and gone to heaven.....perfect

“Love the plaice ;)”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2013

I love the food here, there is no doubt this is one of the best chippys that I have had food from in the UK. The only thing missing is the sea to be honest, and at the moment Norwich is still about 15 miles away from that..
A great menu, recommend the big Mack, and deep fried gherkins, nice & pleasant staff, it does get busy, but waiting time isn't long, there are a few magazines to browse while you wait, or sit in and people watch. Other chip shops need to catch up!! Keep up the great job guys.

Thank you soundgesture, we appreciate your kind review.
The mackerel fillet sandwich is very popular - with our sea bass wrap
catching up to it. We love the friendly crowd that pass through our doors,
making a hectic rush hour always a lot of fun.
Again, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on the grosvenor,
all our best to you.

“Go And Enjoy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2013

Whilst taking vacation in Norfolk, we decided to visit the only city in the County - and our day in Norwich was really enhanced by Trip Advisor. We had not pre-planned our lunch arrangements, but took the advice found on the internet as to which was the best restaurant in the city. The Grosvenor DID live up to it's No.1 rating!!! The Plaice was sublime... The Cod was amazing, and the chips were simply spot on! I consider myself to be a connoisseur of Fish and Chips, and please believe me, these take some beating!
