“Great pizza, great place, patchy service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

This place has a great atmosphere and the food is delicious. Love to share their giant pizzas and halloumi and spinach sides. Great relaxed place to chat with friends over a drink or too. Only quibble is the sometimes surly service.

“Friendly, relaxed and great food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

I've visited The Workshop once before and that was for coffee. Loved it then so decided to return to sample the lunch menu. Was not disappointed. Still the same friendly, laid back and slightly quirky place. Food was served quickly and was delicious.
Love the atmosphere that this place has. The back ground music, books on the shelves and slightly shabby chic decor all add to what is a unique little venue.

“UGLY”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

We heard good reviews about The Workshop through various individuals, particularly from my children and their friends, who attended the university. My son was to graduate, so we thought we'd mark the occasion there.
We visited on a rather busy Friday evening, where upon our arrival, we were received with a bombardment of abuse from the kitchen- something we've never experienced before within any establishment. Such hostility was mystifying. The damsels behind the bar, in fairness to them, were both geniunely affable and sweet natured- if, on observation, they were not dragooned and menaced by surly kitchen folk.
As we placed our food order, one insolent chef screeched his grievances about it- supposedly, we'd ordered far too much, and we were all far too mentally deficient, and imbecilic, to know which dish should accompany another! I mean, the arrogance was just so stupendously outlandish and preposterous!
Admittedly, the food was very delicious. The colossal pepperoni pizza and spanish tapas, were very distinct and tasty- absolutely value for money. It's probable we would go back there to eat, if it were not for the strained, grouchy, and rather malignant atmosphere that lies within, which quite frankly, overshadows any positive aspect of that offensive place. All in all, a different kind of experience, but most definitely an unpleasant one.

“Pizza.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 18, 2012

Best pizza in Norwich, hands down. Extremely thin and crispy. Add chorizo, aubergine, and hot chilis for our version of the best 'za in town. Tapas selection is also very good, too. All in all, a great little spot. Gets very busy on weekends, so get here early if you're coming for dinner on a Friday or Saturday night.

“Something different”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2012

You could sit in this cafe/bar for ages, very relaxing and chilled. If you're in a hurry and want refined service don't go here, but that's the beauty of the place not your run of the mill manic chain!! Very different menu with a small choice but all very tasty. Staff friendly and pleasant. Will go back.
