“Lovely”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2015 NEW via mobile

Took my elderly mother and daughter for lunch. Following week husband and I had lunch. Both experiences where exceptional. Service was impeccable. Food was amazing.
My only small negative point is the adding of service charge to your bill. I always leave a good tip for good service. The first visit it wasn't pointed out that service charge had been added. Second visit I was made aware as I was about to pop PIN number in machine...

“tea for two”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2015 NEW

This was the third time we have had the afternoon tea here.
I am possibly repeating what other people have said.
If you want a really great tea in the most lovely surroundings then this is the place to go. A great selection of teas and the sandwiches, scones and cakes and more are there for the asking if you can manage it.
Do try it.

“Service excellent - food average.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2015 NEW

We had the £20 3 course pre-theatre meal. The service was excellent - very efficient and friendly. The food was OK but not worth raving about. Ham hock fritters were very greasy; pork belly and beans was better and cheese course better still. Might go back to try afternoon tea but would not really recommend for dinner on our experience. Perhaps the superb lunch at Roger Hickman's restaurant on the same day set our standard too high! The buildings are worth seeing.

“Afternoon tea second to none!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2015 NEW

Amazing afternoon tea. The selection of tea goes on and on and you can have a selection of different pots....I managed to get through 3 as enjoyed them so much!
The sandwiches were lovely and they offer to top up if you're feeling peckish. The scones were amazing and the cakes/mousse etc were just so good (although had to take some cakes home as filled up too much too early which they willingly gave us a doggy bag!)
The staff were lovely and attentive and dressed well and the building and decor were perfect-a bit old fashioned and retro but in the most perfect quaint way!
Loved it and will definitely be returning :)

“Afternoon tea at lunchtime”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2015 NEW

For our wedding anniversary we treated ourselves to afternoon tea because on a previous visit we saw the next table having it and it looked lovely.
Even though it was lunchtime, the afternoon tea was available: dainty little sandwiches, excellent scones (both cheese and fruit, with butter, jam and clotted cream), topped off with four different little cakes, pastries and desserts. Not forgetting the choice of various teas, coffee or hot chocolate.
It was delicious and surprisingly filling.
