We found the hotel to be a little outdated, but it was clean and the beds weren't too bad. What made out stay great, were the people there. Particularly the hotel manager, Alan. They also had a pub and a wonderful dining room that served dinner as well as the English Breakfast. The food was good and the service was great. Alan was so nice and we stayed for a week and got to know him. This seems the kind of hotel that gets short term stays from businessmen. We met several that were there for the week and they were just great. Alan gave us suggestions about where to go and what to see in the area. It was a little way away from the main part of town, but a cab ride was less than 5gbp. If you need a base camp in which to tour the area, this may be perfect for you.
