Just got home. Normally the Hong Kong is great but this lunchtime the pork and prawn dumplings were beyond disgusting - fatty, tasteless, liquid, goo - unbelievably horrid - they disintegrated as soon as one used chopsticks to pick them up. When we spoke to the waitress, she seemed to know all about the dim sum chef's little 'disaster' as she put it. She removed them from the bill immediately, but why did they serve them to us in the first place when they knew they were this horrible? The waitress said they had loads and loads for the weekend and it appeared that the restaurant intended to serve them all weekend. When I paid I told her they really couldn't serve them but I didn't get a reply. If they are going to serve these all weekend, they will lose a lot of future income - much more than the wastage of throwing them in the bin. You have been warned. I've been a regular for ten years or so, but this experience has seriously put me off.
