We returned to Norwich after two years and considered staying at other accommodation
but after taking into account all that's included in half board the Annesley is very competitive. The hotel suits us very well being extremely friendly, helpful ,quiet and yet within easy walking distance of the city centre. We stayed in Room 10 which has been redecorated with added bonus of original seascapes and updated flat screen television.

Service was generally very good but with a couple of unexpected lapses; my porridge order was forgotten at saturday breakfast and my wife's soup was served cold at Dinner. Meals however were of a high standard with a small but well chosen wine list and one or two old favourites including the white burgundy. Draft Adnams is a real plus from the hotel bar.

I've used this hotel since 1995, and usually stay 4 or 5 times a year. The reasons I keep going back are very simple. Good value, excellent staff, wonderful food, good location.

Rooms have been upgraded in recent times and this has added to the appeal. The staff remain friendly and welcoming. The food is excellent. Wonderful breakfast -- even gave me black pudding recently though it's not on menu. Room service meals are fantastic, and the restaurant dishes are superb. I don't use the restaurant enough as Norwich's real ale pubs entice me out.

A short distance from the heart of Norwich, this hotel should definitely be on your list of places to stay.

Comfortable room, sufficiently warm, nice bathroom, hearty and generous breakfast and quiet. We slept so well, and it was great getting up to a hearty breakfast and perhaps the best part was that the dining area was evenly warm. If there is as fault, it was only one fault - it was the water pressure where it took a little while to get the water running. Rooms were cleaned quickly and efficiently in the morning. It was certainly good value for money and so restful. The added bonus was free internet service.

Small hotel, old building in great location for city. The room was quiet & the bed really comfy. Staff were friendly. Elected not to eat in as the public areas were deserted. Was a nice surprise as the photos on BW site make the rooms look pretty hideous, feels like it has had a recent refurb and been decked out from Dunelm so all in all good value & yes I would stay again.

Stayed one night on 30th September Smallish boutique style hotel. We were given a large, airy corner room facing onto the main road in the main building, but it had little or no road noise to worry about. Very comfortable. Pleasant and comfortable bar for a pre dinner drink. Dinner in the conservatory was excellent, and while certainly not at pub prices, we did not consider it expensive. Service from check in to departure was friendly and helpfull.

The location on the main road is pretty good for the city centre but to get to it be warned you'll have to go under the subway of the ring road at St Stephens. Breakfasts was very good but the evening meals were Best Western pricey - no matter the centre has choice a plenty.
If you are booked into room 8 or 9 ask to be moved as soon as practicable. They are right above the kitchens and are VERY warm. I slept terribly the first night and the location by the main road meant that it was either bake or get loads of traffic noise until the small hours. They did move me for the second one to a much nicer and larger room. My colleagues had no such problems.
All rooms have TVs with built in DVDs - ideal for the bored traveller.
