The central location is a definite plus and the plantation garden is beautiful. However, the single room I stayed in resembled a small, dark cupboard. Indeed, it made me feel like Gulliver!

Like another reviewer I have to stay away regularly in Norwich for business and have tried a number of hotels but this is by far the best.
The rooms are of a good standard, there is plenty of free car parking, the city centre is only a short and pleasant walk away, the staff are very helpful, breakfast is excellent and there is now free internet access. This hotel has good basic facilites and is small enough to make you believe you are not just a number. I have stayed here for several year and the standards set are always consistent.
We stayed at the Beeches for a weekend in August, and found it to be lovely and a very convenient base for visiting Norwich and the surrounding area.
The staff are friendly, there's ample free parking, comfortable, clean room (including a hospitality tray, view of the gardens and a good shower!), breakfast was very good and was served quickly. It's a very pleasant 10 minutes (max) walk into the town centre. Recommend a visit to the plantation gardens which are beautifully maintained by volunteers.
We would definetly stay here again, and certainly made our weekend break very comfortable.
I stayed at the Beeches Hotel for 3 nights in August 2005. Overall the hotel was nice and the staff were friendly. It is set in some very pleasant gardens and is only a short walk from the city centre. If possible I'd get a room that isn't next to the road as you seem to have a choice of a very warm quiet room or opening the window to have a cool but noisy room. The breakfast was fine and the staff were courteous and friendly.
Just got back from spending a night at Beeches. The hotel is set in three period houses and has lovely gardens. Its not far from the town centre with a cab into town costing less than a fiver. It has a small bar and a restaurant which, although we didnt use for dinner, we heard comments from other guests that it was lovely. We did have breakfast which was very nice with a selection of home made pastries, cereals and a menu of cooked items.
Our room was very clean and bright and had a TV, hairdryer, phone and clock radio. Unfortunately the shower door was broken which would have been noticible to whoever cleaned the room and we felt that it shouldnt have been left for us to find. However Hubby fixed it and im sure if we had brought it to the hotels attention it would have been fixed immediately. The staff were very friendly and helpful . ....Would definately go back.
