“One night stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

My wife and I stayed here after a day and evening in Norwich to celebrate my wife's birthday. The hotel is easily reached, just a few minutes walk from the railway station. Bed was comfortable and the breakfast very good. Only fault that we had was the "standby light" on the TV emitted a very bright blue light!

If you are planning a trip to Norwich, this is the place to stay. Good value for money (5*). Nice decor, clean, very friendly staff, comfortable rooms, usual TV, phone etc. Free WiFi, breakfast (5*) inclusive . Literally 6 minutes walk from train station, 10 minutes from Stadium. Only 20 rooms so you need to book in advance. Even then staff bend over backwards to help.
Doesn't have 24 hour staffing; closes at around 11pm . Peaceful and quiet. Would definitely recommend and would only use another hotel if Stracey is fully booked

Room Tip: The smaller rooms have no wardrobes : ( Just make sure you book in time to get a nice room especial...

A quiet, clean hotel - good value for money. Comfortable beds, generous breakfasts. Nothing was too much trouble - taxi ordering, luggage portering and storage, pots of tea in the middle of a Saturday afternoon. Converted from Victorian villas (?), so stairs and corridors rather narrow with no lift. Would definitely stay again.

This hotel ticks all the boxes. It's clean, convenient location (7 mins walk from the train station, 15 mins to the cathedral), friendly staff, decent breakfast, good value. Would recommend if you want somewhere trustworthy and pleasant to stay. It didn't stir any strong feelings in me either way of love or hate.

I had quite scared by all that had heard of hotels uk but the truth is that this hotel is worth. We have been treated very good, I asked for a specific room type and had. This well located and the only thing that bothered me is not using blinds. I'll be back in no time and I will not find any other hotel.

After being invited to a wedding in Norwich we realised we would have to stay in Norwich for two nights to make the whole experience easier. I found the Stracey Hotel on line. After a pleasant greeting on arrival we were told where our room was and it was lovely. The twin beds had crispy white sheets and everything was very clean including the bathroom. We had two good nights sleep and two adequate breakfasts. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The only problem was with car parking, but I feel this cou.ld happen in all big cities if you want to be near the town. The price was good and we would definitely stay there again. Just remembered something. A mirror near a socket would be good to do hair etc.

Room Tip: Our room was on the lst floor. I would not like to be any higher up the building.

My friend and i had a great 2 night stay at The Stracey Hotel, it was in an ideal position for everything we wanted. The room was spotlessly clean and light and airey. The staff were very helpful and provided us with information we needed if they could. We were here to go and see Cliff Richard concert at Blickling Hall which was great, also Norwich is agreat place to visit so much to see and do we didn't have time, definately have to come back for another visit staying at The Stracey.
