Description: Boasting an enviable location in the very centre of Leicester Square, surrounded by some of the capital's biggest cinemas, Bella Italia is a haven for visitors to the area who are looking for an affordable yet good quality meal. With Piccadilly Circus, Soho and Covent Garden at its fingertips, this popular Italian restaurant is always buzzing with hungry sightseers and shoppers. The menu is full of tasty, traditional Italian dishes such as the baked chicken breast topped with mozzarella cheese and smoky bacon and tomato sauce or the classic antipasti selection with smoked Italian ham, salami, bruschetta, mozzarella and olives. Tiramisu is a must try for dessert, light sponge soaked in coffee and Marsala wine layered with mascarpone and zabaglione cream and dusted with cocoa powder.

“Run down, sloppy service and dirty”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013 via mobile

Me and my partner headed down to London on new years eve and thought what better way to start off was with a nice meal before getting freezing cold watching the fireworks. We should have known what to exspect from the start we was made to wait ages outside but plenty of empty tables inside but no one was cleaning them. We was called forward and asked to take a seat upstairs we had to walk all the way through the resturant and past a massive pile of rubbish at the bottom of the stairs we had to go up and it smelt rottern so must have been left in the hot resturant for sometime. We was not showen to a table so just took the nearest empty one. the waiter was promo on bring the menu and taking drinks and food order. The paint and the wall paper was pealing from the walls and was in a very run down state. Down stairs was not as bad there was no air con either. It took 20 mins for our drinks to arrive and a further half hour for food. After just the one course we called it a night and called in the bill. It was not really a busy night I'd say the resturant was half to 3/4 full so god knows how they manage on busy weekends or premiers. The staff are very stuck up too and always looking down there noses at you

“Nice meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2013

We came here during the summer as they had kids eat free, the restraunt was quite busy but we weren't waiting aages for dinner. the restraunt is very small but well laid out there were 5 of us around a table and lots of other tables nearby but no elbowing or anything My only problem is the toilets are tiny.

“Excellent value for location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

Having got the thumbs-down from the other half to my suggestion to wander into Chinatown to find somewhere to eat before our theatre date, it was a case of finding an alternative (quickly) that would meet with approval. A quick look through the window of this restaurant showed there to be plenty of people inside and what looked to be a good festive atmosphere. A glance at the menu board outside really surprised me as to the extent of the food on offer and its price - it did not seem to be at all different to what one would expect to pay in a provincial town or city. With there now being only the two of us (oh how different things were when we had 3 ankle-snappers / hangers-on!) we were quickly accommodated at one of the many tables for two in the restaurant. The location was good, the service was good, the food was good, the atmosphere was good, the price was good - in fact, no negatives whatsoever.

“Good food and service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2012

Ate here following a visit to a musical in the West End. Service was good, friendly and quick. Food was ok, but the dishes were a little hot - soup too hot to eat, had to wait for it to cool. Spaghetti Bolognaise burnt (actual black bits of mince!). Overall a little disappointed - thank goodness we paid using clubcard vouchers - would not have been happy to pay in cash!
