Paid the extra and upgraded to the executive suite - it was well worth it. Huge room with all the facilities. It would appear the cheaper rooms have small beds and confined space. Wifi is available but only in the reception area. The key to this accommodation is its location - Bayswater and Queensway underground stations are close by and buses run past the front door.

Room Tip: Pay the extra and upgrade your room - 217 is excellent but the cheap ones will probably disappoint.

We booked 3 nights in April 2013, and one of its key features is its location – it is in the Bayswater area of London, one block from Queensway tube station and within five minutes walking distance of Kensington Gardens. We had a studio apartment with a small kitchen on the second floor (Club Room #216) and it was nicely refurbished and clean. Although the bed was against the wall with one side, the comfort of the bed was good. The room was not too small and when the safe did not work, within 5 minutes there was someone to solve it.

Room Tip: Book a Club Room Studio #216 at the back of the building: quiet.

The best thing about this facility is its location – it is in the Bayswater area of London, one block from Queensway, which has shops, restaurants, bars, groceries, buses, two London Underground stations and even a Laundromat within five minutes walk. It is five minutes away from Kensington Gardens.

We had a studio apartment on the ground floor. It was compact, but there was enough space to have two suitcases open on the floor without falling over them. In addition to a double bed, there were two reasonably comfortable armchairs, two stools and plenty of open shelving for our stuff. It came with a small closet (wardrobe) with shelves and an iron. There was a fridge, microwave, small sink and a two burner hotplate. The ensuite bathroom had a shower and no bath. Thanks to a heated towel rail, the bathroom was warm and there was plenty of hot water.

The front desk staff were polite and helpful. The free wifi worked in the lobby but not in our room.

There were a number of drawbacks to this place which stopped me from giving it more than 3stars.

The bed was small and very uncomfortable – the mattress was lumpy and had springs poking out that made it difficult to get a good night’s sleep.
Zero housekeeping services were provided, even though we were there for six days. They didn’t even empty the garbage, nor did they offer any kind of linen or towel change. We noticed strange long black hairs blocking the shower drain. (not ours) Even if you wanted to, you could not clean up after yourself because there wasn’t a broom, dustpan or cloth provided.

Although they provided cooking facilities, the equipment was minimal – just plates, cups and cutlery. If you intended to use the room to eat “in”, you would have to spend a lot on things like dish soap, tea towels, oven gloves etc

Our room looked out into a tiny courtyard – you could see directly into the rooms opposite, so there was no privacy unless you kept the blinds down (which made it dark). It was unseasonably cold when we visited but the heating was turned off in the room and we could not get it turned on. The room and the building were not well maintained. We had water stains around the sink and on the floor near the radiator. The door to the unit and the lock on the door were quite flimsy.

I know that London is an expensive city to stay in, but I can’t help thinking that there is a better deal elsewhere, or else we should have paid a bit more and got somewhere a whole lot nicer.

We like staying in this area of London but as a second stay here we found the room very small, the bed jammed up against the wall and at night the street noise unbearable. We like fresh air so always have an open window but with a hostel nearby for young people and traffic I had the worst nights sleep here of our 7 week holiday. The corridors had a very unpleasant odour too.

Room Tip: Try to get as big a room as possible if you travelling with a lot of luggage otherwise don't sta...

i had read all the reviews here before booking this hotel . there was nothing executive abuout the apartments . very very basic. The Corridors had absoloutely no ventilation. Wifi is only available in the Lobby that has seats for only 4 ppl . Reception desk is tiny . standards quite low for this day and age . Room was small for a studio. however location was good just 2 minutes from queensway station and also 2 min walk to Hyde park. If you need a clean place for a night this place would do the job!

We stayed in a room on the third floor, which was a bit smaller than expected for a 'superior double room', but was clean and provided good amenities. The shower was a bit cramped for my liking though. The apartments are very close to Queensway (central line) and Bayswater (district/circle line) tube stations, so it is very easy to access the city/tourist attractions via public transport. The Kensington Gardens are a minutes walk away, and there are also many shops and a variety of restaurants within walking distance on Queensway in Bayswater, which was also a bonus. Be aware that payment is required on arrival.
All in all, quite good value for money.

Before planning a trip to London I checked reviews on Trip advisor of Serviced apartments in a good location, like I usually do. I found a lot of options but the most suited in my budget was the Hyde Park Executive apartments. Even though I read reviews which were not very conducive........some of them spoke about the terrible noises one hears as the rooms are close by, some talked about the strong food smells which lets off the smoke alarms & spoils the mood & some mentioned the rude behaviour of the staff. But these negative feedbacks(happy & not so happy reviews) did not make me apprehensive instead I decided to go ahead with this place because of 2 reasons: 1) Good location, 10-15mins from Oxford street/Bond street by bus 24/7, even in the night. 2) Reasonably priced, I booked an apartment with a kitchenette, a loft bedroom, a mini tv cum kitchen space with a wooden sofa cum bed for relaxing. I thought I am taking a risk but not adhering to my usual style of booking a hotel but I wanted to take a chance!

To my surprise, all of the things said previously about this property came true but I realised that, whats convenient & necessary for others may not be the same for me & it also depends upon the type of apartment one is booking! But in general, this place was not bad! It was excellently located, 30mins from Victoria terminal by bus, max 15mins from the most happening place in London, Oxford Street & situated in a very very quite place but easy to find. The bus stop is at a walking distance(I talk about the bus as a means of transport as I find it the most convenient modes to travel in London), with great frequency even in the night. The very famous Hyde Park is right across the road!

The bit about the staff being rude is absolutely true! The check-in took some time but theres a seating area at the reception with free wifi(once you have the keys). I got an apartment on the ground floor which was a relief as I had to drag my luggage myself! The kitchen was not well equipped so I asked for more dishes for cooking, which I was given with no extra cost. They charge the entire stay at the time of arrival. One VERY IMPORTANT thing I noticed was that the staff at the reception keeps on changing & no ones there in the night after 9:00p.m. So if u need anything ask before 9pm or else you are in a fix!

Lets talk about the room I took. At the entrance, there is a small passage leading to the living cum kitchen area. The bed is on the loft with tiny narrow steps not for the heavy ones! As the room was on the ground floor, it was facing the main road, with cars & people passing by 24/7 so I could not open the large blind on the window for some light to peep in! But inspite of this, it was our little world in the big picture of London, where we cooked, ate while watching weird channels & lived in a tiny loft bedroom. Its a place I wouldn't choose if I were on a business trip or travelling solo. Also, for big families, I guess there are larger rooms for a price.

All in all, this place is average & depends upon the mood & company of travel. I travelled with my mother who is a strict Indian vegetarian......so even on a holiday what satisfied her more was that she could cook her own food & so my purpose of staying at Hyde Park apartments was fulfilled!

Room Tip: Depends upon the category of room one books. The room on the ground floor is preferred as no help fo...
