“Shanghai Blues gave us the Blues !!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2014

We had their 6 course set menu for two and were very disappointed with the quality of food served.
All three starters were deep fried and very greasy, and we sent back the sliced filet steak which was tough and inedible.
We ordered Jasmine tea for two. It was served in a tiny pot with two thimble size cups at a cost of £7 !!!
We definitely will not return.

“Good food, excellent service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2014 via mobile

Came across this lovely restaurant during one of our long London walks. Lunch menu was extensive although half of our starters did come after the main dishes. Found a strand of hair in one, the waitress was very apologetic and offered to replace the dish. I told her its ok since we were quite full already. Few minutes later the manager came and again offered his apologies and informed us that the dish was taken of our bill. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, would have been better sans the hair.

“Surprisingly good!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2014

We had an Amazon taster menu voucher and we couldn't choose better. Value for money, £50 for 2 people for 6 course set menu with a glass of wine each. Dishes included duck pancakes, crab, 1/4th of lobster served with rice (1/2 lobster is £42 on its own), dim sun, squid, sorbet and rose bud tea. There is a live band playing on Saturdays from 8pm.

At first we thought we are going to finish our dinner within an hour, dishes were coming one after another with pretty much no gaps, this was really express service, but when we've finished our meal nobody made us feel it is time to free the table and we should be going, instead they were coming and offering to top up hot water so we can carry on enjoying rose bud tea and listen to the live music.

All in all very nice decor, service was ok but not all waiters could speak communicative english. You will ask me will I go there again, likely yes, but I will probably search for another discount voucher as this is quite pricey restaurant.

“Absolutely Fab!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014 via mobile

I used to work above this place and we would pop down for a business lunch but I have been here with large and small groups always amazing. Can recommend the egg fried rice, all of the Dim Sum but in particular the dumplings in superior spicy soup. If you like it to blow your head off (and they check that you do), order this, they become addictive!
