“Definitely worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2014

Something different in Drummond Street and ideal if you have some time before your train from Euston. Food is excellent, as is service, well spiced and somewhat quirky,

“Great Discovery!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 3, 2014

A treasure of a restaurant with a simple store front, but what heavenly creations await you inside.
Delicious lamb with figs, rice adored with cinnamon, pumpkin flan, the list goes on! We travelled out from Amsterdam to enjoy a short weekend visiting friends in London but we never imagined that after choosing African Gallery Kitchen from the Tripadvisor, that we would choose for our two nights in London to dine only in Antonio's intimate gallery restaurant. If you fancy wonderful conversation about history, art, and architecture coupled with food made from the heart then plan to have lunch or dinner at this special establishment. We highly recommend Antonio's African Gallery Kitchen.

“Full of Flavours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2014

Excellent meal of Yam balls and Jerk Chicken.

Chicken especially good and packed with spices and full of flavour and just enough spice.

Would definitely recommend.

“Just OK food but not truly african taste”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2014

The three starts are given as this place - cafe (I simple cannot call it restaurant) due to the food quality and taste, price and an overall experience. This is a small cafe in a quiet street of London offering microwaved mediocre food, cooked in somebody's house. It is a mediocre home cooking, not even amazing home cooking. This is not a restaurant food. The food was OK, but nothing special and nothing delicious about it. Certainly it is not true West African taste. The cafe served home made ginger beer which was extremely strong that we could not drink it. Very bitter and carbonated. I do appreciate that some people may like it.
The reason why we went to African Kitchen Gallery was that for a long time we are trying to find some proper West African food in a nice ambiance. The reviews on TripAdvisor for this place are incredible and I was surprised how come I never heard of it considering it is not far from where we live. However TripAdvisor reviews can trick people sometimes (I learned it hard way). This is not the first place that I choose to go to due to the amazing reviews, however it was a huge disappointment. Not sure, where are the reviews are coming from.
The service was OK, the cafe looks cute with the display of various African masks which are on sale. There were 5 tables in total. The menu very limited. Some vegetarian choices too. Overpriced for the food you are getting. You are of course getting the quantity but not the quality. Service is also included in the bill which I find strange considering it is a small cafe with one member of staff.
We were very disappointed after eating at African Kitchen Gallery as we were expecting proper West African hot food cooked in a palm oil however the food was nothing alike.
We would definitely not be going back to this cafe.

“What a treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2014

A place you would easily pass without realising the wonders that await within. It was truly a splendid evening. Convivial and relaxed with superb well cooked and delicious food. Around the tiny space there are loads of African art sculptures and works of art. I will definitely recommend it to everyone and will go back time and again.
