“Disappointing food. Poor value.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2013

A friend and I turned up on a busy evening and they fit us in very helpfully.

Unfortunately, that was almost the last of the good.

The Pad Thai was incredibly disappointing. Not sweet, not sour, no seasoning, no heat. It was bland. Just bland.

The satays tasted good but were a little stingy. The beef curry was seriously stingy and didn't make up for it by being much more than unremarkable.

“No Wi-Fi !!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

10 of us were there on Friday night which was great fun, service seemed to be slightly stretched as the place was packed however that was of no concern as were all busy with wine & chatting.

The noise levels were quite high and there did seem to be a lot of kids in, I could barley hear people on the other side of the table speaking.

The food was pretty good, and we struggled to finish the amount that we ordered.

In this day & age it was disappointing that they didn't have wi-fi for our table of fb-ers !.

“Poor service, poor attitude”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013 via mobile

The service was very slow. The waiter brought out the wrong food and then accused us of ordering it. He then brought out the meat dishes and we had to wait over 10 minutes for our rice to come. I sent back my food as it was cold by the time I got my rice and the beef curry did not look very appetising. Our plates were not cleared nor our glasses. It was very busy and the waiter said he was new but his attitude was poor. The manager gave £10 off our bill and was very apologetic.

The quality of the food was not the best either.

“Banana Tree Clapham Junction - fab Asian food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

You can only book tables for parties of seven or more, so we arrived fairly early - at 7.30pm - on a Saturday night recently. We were seated straight away and the restaurant filled up quickly. We had a bottle of Italian Pinot Grigio Garganega Nova @ £16.95 while reading the Asian fusion menu (great mix of Thai, Vietnamese, Malay dishes).

For starters three of us shared chicken and shitake moneybags – crispy chicken and shitake mushroom stuffed parcels served with chilli sauce @ £4.90, and kau chi dumplings – handmade pork and prawn dumplings with aged vinegar + garlic sauce @ £4.60. Both were really tasty.

My friends both had chilli, ginger and basil stir fry with prawns for main course – a fresh and aromatic stir fry, with cloud ear and shitake mushrooms, peppers and spring onions in Siamese yellow bean sauce @ £8.40 and steamed Jasmine rice @ £2.50, while I had seafood kari santan melayu – tiger prawns, tilapia fish fillets and fishcakes gently cooked in a traditional Malaysian blended red curry paste @ £8.90 (lots of deep, contrasting and complementary flavours – simply gorgeous).

This was my first visit here in a long while and it was just as great as ever - amazingly tasty, fresh Asian fusion (Thai, Malay and Vietnamese dishes). I'll be coming back again soon.

“Fabulous Asian Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

Had a girls night out here, we all loved the food and cocktails. We are already planning to go back. Staff very friendly and helpful. Place and be a bit noisy when its busy but its worth it for the food!
