I am not a great meat eater , I love meat but try and eat chicken or fish . My daughter suggested Gaucho's in Sloane Avenue . We went last Sunday for lunch prior to seeing Sleeping Beauty at The London Coliseum. The restaurant is predominately black with touches of white . The black chairs are backed with cow skins ...I love the decor.
It did occur to me after a big lunch I would probably end up sleeping through the ballet ...I didn't. We ordered empanadas which were extremely tasty and also prawns which my daughter loved. I ordered the smallest rib-eye with peppercorn sauce and my daughter ordered the smallest size filet with a mushroom sauce. We also ordered pommes frites and a sweet pumpkin served in a corn husk. The meat was extraordinarily the best steak I think I have ever eaten ,the cattle eat grass and then it is shipped over from Argentina maturing on the voyage for around 28 days vacuum packed in its own juices..... my daughter also loved her filet.
The waiters were all really attentive and by the end of our second course we just felt we couldn't manage a pudding...the waiter nevertheless brought us a banana split with dulche di leche ice cream to share ..delicious but sadly we just didn't finish it! The restaurant's situation is great on Sloane Avenue close to The Conran Shop , Joseph and many other interesting shops.
PS My daughter did fall asleep through Sleeping Beauty !
