I ate at this restaurant on a couple of evenings this week. I've walked past it many times before, but it has always appeared full, and sometimes has diners waiting to be found a table. Perhaps things are a little quieter during the lull of January, or perhaps I just decided to eat earlier in the evening. Anyway, two meals on two successive evenings gave me enough evidence to conclude that this is an excellent choice for anyone who wants really good Thai food, cooked perfectly. The setting is fairly casual, and even though I didn't have to wait for a table, it was still busy on both evenings, and by the time I left people were waiting to be seated.
Touches such as hot, crisp, freshly cooked prawn crackers really make a difference from the standard approach in many of the usual Thai restaurants. Starters of crispy wonton stuffed with mushrooms, and vegetable spring rolls with a mint dipping sauce were beautiful, well-prepared and well-seasoned. A main of Panang curry king prawns was absolutely outstanding -large but juicy and tasty king prawns, with a wonderfully fragrant and delicately spicy sauce. My second evening's main course of prawn pad Thai was also very good, unusually presented with a thin lace of fried egg on the top. Side orders of rice and various vegetables were also very good.
Good service and reasonable prices (especially for London) make this overall an excellent restaurant choice which I thoroughly recommend.
