This was my second visit to Galvin's bistrot in Baker Street and it did not disappoint. I went with a friend for a catch up over a good meal. The banquette tables are quite close together, but still private enough to talk. The decor is comfortable and classic. The waiters are friendly and helpful, though the sommelier did not appear until after we'd ordered our wine. The food was delicious, from the amuse bouche, to the chewy tasty baguette; then a Rochefort salad and a crab ravioli for starters, followed by perfect John Dory fillets with a cauliflower puree, capers and golden sultanas. To finish, excellent expressos and melting raspberry truffles. We went on a Wednesday and it was full and very buzzy, so book ahead. My only comments are that most bottles of wine are over £40 and last night there didn't seem to a maitre de in overall charge, so we waited for a while to get the bill and to pay. But highly recommended.
