It was arranged that we would meet an English friend we had not seen in 25 years, at Galvin Bistrot de Luxe, Baker Street, London, for lunch. Our friend had chosen this restaurant. It was Perfect for us! Warm wood and crisp linens, gently lit, servers knowledgeable, in the moment and very patient as we talked so much we hardly thought to order! There was live classical music. The menu was select and just what we'd hoped for. Plates were lovely and Delicious. I sent the first white wine back, and the server was very understanding. Three desserts were shared by the three of us. We were the last to leave, and there was absolutely no sense of being hurried out the door. Such a wonderful experience in Sherlock Holmes land!
