“Central, modern, clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2012 via mobile

Stayed here about two years ago for my husbands birthday. Hotel had left a bottle of bubbly in the room as well as a happier birthday note as I had emailed to say it was a birthday. Nice surprise! We were able to leave our bags as we arrived very early and room wasn't ready. Five min walk from tube station which was also on the central line so everything was very handy. Another plus was that hotel was in a quiet area and it had basic self catering facilities also. Would def stay again and it wasn't too dear

I stayed here with two of my best friends at the beginning of June 2012 for 6 nights and it was amazing, it was a 5 minute walk to the tube station and didn't take long at all to make it into central london, The room was a very good size and was very clean, beds were very comfortable however the bathroom was a shoe box, literally a shoe box so I would say that was the only downfall.

Room Tip: Request a room on the top level and the lower levels are my noisier.

My husband and I stayed 5 nights here after a month touring around the UK in preparation for our return to the USA. I was happy to find a hotel in Zone 1 within walking distance to 3 Underground stations (Bayswater was closest-about a 5 minute walk through a Russian neighborhood, then Queensway, then Paddington) for a very reasonable price. To find something with this proximity to London for about $90 USD per night was incredible. We had room B, which was a ground floor room with a double bed, small wardrobe, refrigerator and a few utensils and dishes, a small desk, phone, and a large flat screen TV on the wall. The bathroom was small with a shower, toilet, and small sink. The room was odd in that there was the main door to the hallway, another door to the hallway, and a door to an adjoining room. THere was a large window behind the bed that let in some light and air. On the wall was an "Air Cool" which we assumed to be an air conditioner of some sort, but which looked like the Klimt painting, The Kiss. We could never get it to work properly. Leinster Square was across the street and Hyde Park nearby. There were several pubs and restaurants and groceries on the 5 minute walk to the Tube station and much more up on the main street. Everything was clean, the bed was comfortable, and except for quite a bit of hallway noise with folks coming in and out the main door to the building, it was an enjoyable stay at a very good price.

Room Tip: Try to get one on the 1st (not ground) floor or above to keep from hearing everyone coming in and ou...

I have sought a not so expensive hotel close to but not inside London Centre.
This hotel fitted its purpouse: not expensive, comparing to others available; quite well located, in a charming area four blocks from bayswater station; free wifi internet in the rooms; small bathroom, but with amazingly good shower (strong positive point). However, the room itself was a bit small; I have stayed in two of them, both not really spacious. Another minor point was the small sie of curtains, which did not block all sun light. Overall I would recommend it fot business and also romantic trips.

Spent 4 nights at the Hyde Park Hotel last week and it was a wonderful stay. Last time I stayed at the Hilton next door, but I have to say I enjoyed the Hyde Park Hotel better. The room was clean and cozy, with internet (didn't have that at the Hilton), AC that's hidden beyond a painting on the wall and beautiful way. Three tube options just 5 mins walk (circle, district and central), Whiteleys mall near by (with H&M, M&S, Gap, coffee shops and more) and a wonderful area to walk around.

Note the hotel doesn't have a lift. Also, the breakfast is very plain (croissants, cereal and milk) so dont order it, there are plenty of coffee and pastry shops near by for you to choose from (Costa, Starbucks, Pret, Nero and more)

The Hyde Park Hotel was chosen for the price we got for trading some of our timeshare points and that it was fairly close to the sites we wanted to take in. The hotel was in an average area about 10 minute walk from Tube station. The staff was great and very helpful. The room was clean but cold and the heat could not be adjusted. The Internet signal was intermittent, the TV channels good but the TV was in an awkward position to see it from the bed. I rate this as an average hotel for the price and the comfort and if the price is right probably a good location to see London without a large amount of travel.

Room Tip: Maybe the upper floors are warmer than the street level or if you are staying in the Summer maybe ou...
